With the most recent Jeep Renegade, you see another discontinued subcompact model boasting 177 horsepower and a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. Lastly, the Chevy Trax has lower starting prices on average compared to the Hyundai Kona model, but it lacks decent standard specs and features and only hits 137 horses.

Verdict: The Hyundai Kona has remained a top seller among its competition since launching and offers the best value for money.
